Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American performer, actress and songwriter for several years. She was raised by her mother, within the USA. Raised with racial insults, she was felt unloved. If she attended an event at school and was given high praise for her singing at the age of 9 the young girl started to grow more confident. This experience did not just help to boost her confidence, but also changed her outlook on the future. She attended New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. As she was turning 23 years old, she launched her professional career in Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, when she was 23 her first film debut was You've received mail. Her greatest break came in her role as The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the original Broadway production of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great appreciation for her performance. The recognition grew even more when she appeared in Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. She is also a known performer and has produced an extended show. As an activist, she is a tireless advocate in the cause of LGBT equality.
