Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Some of her early Broadway performances included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. For her role as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she was awarded the Tony Award. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress and director has spent most of her professional career working with well-known directors and actors in film and on television. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's current film will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. This film is a Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. Ashford, who will appear alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. The group behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the control of the production. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the crisis in America that picked across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment proceedings in over a century. Her two seasons on CBS show B Positive was her first significant part. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Other Broadway roles for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded an Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a Denver origins native, and now splits her time in Los Angeles.
